Yard Maintenance Schedule

Maintenance:

YARD MOWING/TRIMMING - Weekly

The season will begin the last week of March and will end the last week of October. Mowing will be performed at a rate necessary to maintain lawns in a neat and professional manner. The approximate mowing height will be 3”, with the cutting schedule to remove 1/3 of the grass blade. Mowing will include trimming, edging and blowing all paved areas. This is a vital part of your yard maintenance

PRUNING SHRUBS- March & September

Shrub Pruning- Shrubs will be pruned to maintain good shape and to remove dead, damaged, or unproductive branches. Shrubs will be pruned at the proper time of year to maximized natural color. Any shrubbery requiring special equipment such as a high-truck or that cannot be properly trimmed using an 8’ stepladder are not covered in this proposal.

This task will be performed on all shrubs in healthy condition. Shrubs that are in major decline, and/or have been damaged over more than one third and are considered unproductive will not be included in this proposal.

Formal Hedges- All formal hedgerows shall be sheared to maintain a tight formal appearance. Hedges are defined as “two or more plants in a row”.

BED WEEDING - As Needed

A spray application will be applied where needed. Hand weeding will be used around trees, shrubs and mulch areas.

Yard Maintenance By Month:

CORE AERATION - September

This service provides for increased root, air and water penetration. This allows more efficient water and nutrient uptake. In addition, it helps reduce thatch and soil compaction.

1st LAWN FERTILIZATION - March

This application provides pre-emergent crabgrass control, and post-emergent weed control.

2nd LAWN FERTILIZATION - April

This application provides additional post-emergent weed control.

3rd LAWN FERTILIZATION - June

Don’t let your lawn become the grub’s next meal. The best time to apply this application is June or July.

4th LAWN FERTILIZATION - September

Turf Builder

5th LAWN FERTILIZATION - October

This application provides winterization plus fertilizer and post-emergent weed control.

BED MAINTENANCE - April

All mulched areas will be treated with post-emergent controls to prevent weed build up. Hand weeding or spray application will occur if necessary. This will be done throughout the growing season.

BED PRE-EMERGENT - March & April

Bed pre-emergent materials will be applied to all mulched areas to help prevent weed seed germination.

MULCHING - April

Mulch will be applied to all mulch areas.

CULTIVATED BEMS AND TREE RINGS - September

All mulched beds and tree rings will be cultivated for a fresh appearance.

EDGE BEDS AND TREE RINGS - March & September

All mulched beds and tree rings will be edged.

PERENNIAL CARE - March & October

Seasonal maintenance of perennials, trimming back of perennials in fall and or spring

WINTER TREE PRUNE - October

All trees up to 8” in diameter will be pruned once per session when dormant (late fall & winter) to eliminate dead, damaged, or unproductive branches. Branches that obstruct walks or roadways and sucker growth will be removed. All trees requiring special equipment such as high-lift trucks or ladders are not covered in this proposal. Tree pruning may occur in January or February of the following calendar year.

SPRING CLEAN UP - March

Clean up will include removal of accumulated leaves, miscellaneous trash and debris. Clean up will occur prior to mulching or the beginning of the spring season. Clean up of unauthorized dumping is not included and will be removed at an additional cost.
